Xbox Dvr Lost All My Videos Trying to Upload to Onedrive

Hullo Hans. I'grand Greg, awarded MVP for eleven years, Volunteer Moderator, and Independent Advisor here to help you until this is resolved.

Go along in mind that even if the files are deleted and emptied from WIndows Recycle Bin, they volition remain in the Onedrive.com online recycle bin until you empty it. So sign in to check there first.

And so let'south deal with this: OneDrive may have made changes to Settings without your knowledge, so get over them now to decide if they are what yous want:

If the Folder Protection Backup is called in OneDrive Settings > Backup Tab, then the User Documents, Desktop and/or Pictures folders volition exist moved into the OneDrive folder to sync to OneDrive and (if you want) your other devices. See Folder Protection details hither to understand more and make changes if desired:
https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/116029-turn...

And so there is another setting for Pictures in OneDrive Settings > Backup > Automatically Relieve Photos & Videos to OneDrive.

Also in Windows Settings > Devices > Autoplay make sure each Device listed is changed in the dropdown bill of fare to Save to Photos app, unless you desire them saved to Onedrive.

Another setting designed for smaller hard drives removes files from the hard bulldoze and stores them only in the cloud if Files On Demand is chosen in OneDrive Settings. This feature is described hither:
https://www.pcworld.com/article/3233488/windows...

If yous don't want Files on Need and so after disabling it, let information technology to download all the files back to the hard drive before disabling Backup Folder Protection.

I hope this helps. Experience free to inquire back any questions and let us know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

First, Thanks for helping.

Let'due south get a bit specific well-nigh the situation.  Keep in listen that I'm totally unfamiliar with OneDrive. I thought I was going to like information technology but I'1000 really 'challenged' At present!

ane) Overview: My Win10 is Win10Pro with all the MS updates through 1/14/2021.  I take, I'm pretty sure multiple OneDrive, logins.  Not totally sure only pretty sure as I have several things in my 'normal life'.  I exercise software development via a company and clients, teach at several universities and also practise additional things with differing logins for various roles and responsibilities of my life - personal, professional person and legal.  So, how do I know I accept i or multiple OneDrive UserIDs?  I tin can't seem to see which one I'k on.

2) Big OneDrive folder on my SSD: Uniquely, after I posted this message I noticed that under my Pictures directory there was a OneDrive directory. So, I checked the destination directory and it has the OneDrive directory which besides had the two (ii) major files I needed.  I promptly copied (not moved) them dorsum as the original OneDrive directory was part of my initial 'get space' attempt for my 2TB SSD now down to 1.75GB used vs ane.98GB+ used. Why would OneDrive put a OneDrive directory in my Pictures ready of directories?  Weird!!!  Relative to the crisis mode during the initial post, these ii (2) files have been recovered & moved to a different, non OneDrive accessible location - at least afaikn. Why practise I have a 'large' OneDrive folder even on my SSD?  OneDrive is deject-based not just relocating on my SSD isn't information technology?

3) Migrating dots: At the current time when I select the 'Information" icon on the upper right  all I get are the five (5) 'migrating dots'. Nothing ever appears for at least ten (10) minutes!

4) Empty Recycle bin: Selecting the Recycle bin on the left yields a screen to its right of "Your recycle bin is empty".  I haven't touched this!
5) Backup on OneDrive?  I judge I'yard lost here.  On the OneDrive website I don't come across this...  Nor practise I come across this inside OneDrive on my laptop (Win10Start>OneDrive).

I'll stop here.....

Thanks for your feedback.

i) If you lot're asking how to know which OneDrive account you're signed in with at the fourth dimension, you'd right click the OneDrive cloud icon in System Tray, choose Settings, in box the email address should exist listed at the top of the Settings tab. To sign out and into another account, click on the Unlink PC link simply below that.

2) The simply reason I can think of that OneDrive would movement it's directory into your Pictures folder is that you lot selected that location when you signed into OneDrive after it had been Unlinked, or when beginning setting it up. It walks you lot through if you desire to motion the OneDrive binder from default, then which of the folders you have sync'd online to OneDrive and so far yous want to select to sync on this PC, or which y'all want to get out in the deject.

If you don't want a difficult copy of files on your PC and so you can select in OneDrive Settings > Settings tab to have Files on Need which keeps them just in the cloud with just download links on your PC. This is ideal for smaller SSD's merely for larger ones I don't know why someone wouldn't want a copy ready on the PC and just sync'd to the deject as backup, or to some other device where the aforementioned affair is washed.

3) Where are you seeing the migrating dots which y'all choose Data. I don't come across that folio. Are you talking well-nigh online in onedrive.com? That is an net delay. I have fast internet and it happens to me in the online Recycle Bin when I'm trying to review it to see if I want annihilation earlier emptying it. This Recycle Bin is the condom net that is never emptied without your OK. But its about the only reason I view OneDrive online since I keep all its files in my OneDrive binder, where I root all my User folders for backup and sync to my other devices. So thaat'southward another reason to continue a copy of your files on the PC considering it's faster to manage them than the online Onedrive.com which is being tapped by hundreds of millions of users doing billions of operations at any one time. Notwithstanding a change you make in a file in your Documents is sync'd to the internet almost in real time.

4) Which Recycle Bin? Online Onedrive? Make sure the box it ticked in Settings tab to Warn me when removing files from the web. It should always ask past default.

5) I gave you an illustrated tutorial about Folder Protection, at present called Fill-in, here:
https://world wide web.tenforums.com/tutorials/116029-turn...

I mentioned that I sync all my User folders to OneDrive which then sync's them to all my other devices prepare up the same way. Here is a tutorial I wrote about this if it interests you lot:
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...

I likewise back up all my User folders to Google Drive fill-in as a secondary real-time backup, which offers up to 15gb free:

I hope it helps.
